Here is everything you need for MRCOG Part 3 booking.
The next MRCOG Part 3 exam is in May 2027 (5–6 and 10–11 May). To book it, your Assessment of Training (AoT) must be approved first, with an advised deadline of Thursday 21 January 2027. Booking then opens in two short windows, 4–8 March and 11–15 March 2027, and results come out on Wednesday 9 June 2027 (RCOG key dates and fees).

MRCOG Part 3 key dates for May 2027 and November 2027
Each sitting has an AoT deadline, an address-update deadline, two booking windows only five days long, and an exam spread over two blocks of days.
Part 3 runs twice a year, in May and November. These are the RCOG’s published dates (source):

Booking for November 2026 has closed. That sitting runs on 4–5 and 9–10 November 2026 in London, Kolkata, Mumbai, Malaysia, Cairo, Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong, with results on Wednesday 9 December 2026 (see our MRCOG Part 3 results guide).
MRCOG Part 3 fees by band
The fee depends on the country of the centre where you sit the exam, not where you live. India is Band B and the GCC countries are Band A.
The RCOG’s Part 3 fees for 2027 are (source):

Bandings follow the RCOG country bandings list, so a doctor living in Dubai who sits in Mumbai pays the Band B fee. The GST charged on Part 1 and Part 2 fees in India does not apply to Part 3.
Who can book Part 3: eligibility in brief
You need a Part 2 pass and an approved AoT before you can book, and you must stay within the attempt and seven-year limits.
To book Part 3 you must (RCOG how to apply):
- have sat and passed MRCOG Part 2
- have your Assessment of Training approved. You can apply for AoT any time after passing Part 1, and should allow up to four weeks for processing after the advised deadline
- meet the attempt rules: you get four attempts at Part 3, and you must attempt it at least once within seven years (pro rata) of passing Part 2. Otherwise you have to retake Part 2 (RCOG Part 3 FAQs).
You do not need to reapply if your AoT was approved through the MTI scheme or before July 2019 as part of Part 2 eligibility. AoT has two routes: Route A for UK trainees at ST3 or above, and Route B for everyone else, which needs at least four years of full-time (or equivalent) O&G posts after medical registration, including at least two years within the four years before you apply.For the full criteria, see our MRCOG Part 3 eligibility guide.
MRCOG Part 3 booking: How to book step by step
Most problems happen before booking day, so get your AoT and account in order early and then book in the first window.
- Get AoT approved. Submit it well before the AoT deadline. Watch for the acknowledgement email and reply quickly if the RCOG asks for more information, because a delayed AoT can cost you the sitting.
- Check your RCOG account details. Make sure your home address and email are correct by the address-update deadline, because booking invitations go to your registered email. Test your My RCOG login now, not on booking day.
- Book in the first (priority) window. Eligible candidates are emailed a booking link when the window opens. In recent sittings booking has opened at around 9:00 am UK time (2:30 pm IST for the May sitting, 1:30 pm IST for November), though the RCOG does not publish a fixed time, so keep your inbox open from that morning. Seats at popular centres go quickly, so book as soon as you get the link.
- Use the second window if needed. If you could not book in the first window, the second opens a few days later. Centre choice may be narrower by then.
- Pay and confirm. Check the cardholder name, billing address and CVV, and make sure your card allows international payments. Do not close the page until the confirmation appears. Then keep the confirmation email, because centres cannot be changed after the closing date.
If you need special arrangements, ask the RCOG exams team (exams@rcog.org.uk) before the closing date and quote your College account number.
What happens if you miss a window or deadline
Missing the first window still leaves the second one. Missing both, or the AoT deadline, usually means waiting six months for the next sitting.
- Missed the first window: book in the second; popular centres may be full.
- Missed both windows: you will need to book the next sitting. The RCOG does not publish a waiting-list policy, so contact the exams team if your preferred centre is full.
- Missed the AoT deadline: the RCOG asks you to allow up to four weeks for processing, so a late AoT may not be approved in time to book that sitting.
- Booked but cannot attend: if you withdraw after the closing date, the fee is normally forfeited. Not attending does not count as an attempt. Refunds are considered only in prescribed circumstances, through a written request with evidence (RCOG Part 3 FAQs).
Planning your preparation around the dates
Count back from the exam date, not the booking date, and set your circuit practice to start once AoT is done.
