MRCOG Part 1

MRCOG Part 1 is the entry-level examination in the journey of achieving membership in the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. The aim of this part is to assess the understanding of medicine in the basic and clinical sciences relevant to obstetrics and gynaecology.

  • Mode of exam: Computer-based tests (CBT).
  • Number of papers : Two papers
  • Number of questions : 100 SBAs for each paper
  • Core subjects : Basic sciences relevant to obstetrics and gynaecology.
  • Duration of the exam : 2 Hour and 30 minutes

MRCOG Part 2

MRCOG Part 2 is the second-level examination in your journey to achieving the coveted RCOG membership. This written examination is aimed at assessing the application of medical knowledge in clinical scenarios.

  • Mode of examination: Computer based written examination
  • Number of papers: Two papers
  • Question types : 100 questions for each paper
  • Exam duration : 3 hours for each paper
  • Core subjects : Applied clinical knowledge in obstetrics & gynaecology.

MRCOG Part 3

MRCOG Part 3 is the final stage in achieving the coveted membership in the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. This objective structured clinical examination assesses an aspirant’s knowledge, skills, and competencies, ultimately ensuring them the prestigious designation of MRCOG and membership in the college.

  • Mode of examination : Objective structured clinical exam
  • Number of stations : 14
  • Core areas : Patient safety, Communication with patients and their relatives, Communication with colleagues, Information gathering, Applied clinical knowledge.
  • Exam duration : 12 minutes for each station
