For OBGYN aspirants, the Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) is the global benchmark of clinical excellence. If you are aiming for the July 2026 MRCOG Part 2 exam, the clock is officially ticking.

The most critical step in your exam is not just the booking; it is the Expression of Interest (EOI) submission. If you want to receive an invitation to book the exam, you have to successfully submit EOI. As the EOI closing date is approaching, here is everything you need to know to secure your place in the upcoming diet.

What is the MRCOG Part 2 Expression of Interest (EOI)?

The Expression of Interest is a mandatory pre-registration process introduced by the RCOG to manage the high demand for exam seats at Pearson VUE centres. The EOI acts as a “formal notification” to the College. Once you submit this form, you inform the RCOG that you are eligible and intend to sit the exam in July.

Crucial Note: Submitting an EOI does not mean you have booked the exam. It simply places you on the “Invite List.” When the booking window opens in April, only those who submitted a valid EOI will receive the unique link required to select a test centre and pay the exam fee.

Step-by-Step: How to Submit Your EOI

The process is straightforward, but accuracy is necessary. A mistake in your name or email could result in you missing the booking invitation. Follow these steps carefully:

  • Access the Page: This is the first step. You have to visit the official RCOG website and access the Expression of Interest page.
  • Enter Your ID: Once you access the page, you must fill in the EOI by entering your unique 6-digit RCOG account number. Ensure this is the same number linked to your Part 1 success.
  • Verify Your Name: Provide your first and last name exactly as they appear on your government-issued ID (Passport or National ID). Inconsistencies in the names can cause issues at the Pearson VUE exam centre on exam day.
  • Confirm Your Email: Enter the email address currently used for your RCOG account. This is where your booking link will be sent.
  • Privacy and Consent: Read the RCOG’s privacy statement thoroughly and tick the box to consent to proceed.
  • Submit: Click the Submit button. You should see a confirmation screen; we recommend taking a screenshot of your confirmation.

Transitioning from Booking to Brushing Up

Once you submit the EOI, you should start focusing entirely on the vast and complex syllabus of MRCOG Part 2. This part of the MRCOG exam is known to be the most difficult one as it moves away from the basic sciences and focuses on clinical prioritisation and evidence-based management.

You are not just tested on what you know; you are tested on how you apply the Green-top Guidelines (GTG), NICE guidelines, and FSRH standards to complex patient scenarios. This is where structured preparation is needed.
