The MRCOG Part 1 exam on July 2nd is fast approaching. This crucial first hurdle is your gateway to a fulfilling career in OBG. Awarded by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, MRCOG is recognised globally and signifies a high level of expertise and competence in the field.

The MRCOG is divided into three parts, with Part 1 focusing on the basic and clinical sciences relevant to obstetrics and gynaecology. Passing MRCOG Part 1 is the first step towards becoming a member of the RCOG and advancing your career in this specialised medical domain.

Exam pattern

MRCOG Part 1 is a written examination that evaluates the fundamental knowledge and applied sciences relevant to OBG clinical practice. The exam mainly analyses the 15 core knowledge areas belonging to the four main domains.

The exam consists of two Computer-Based Test (CBT) papers, each with 100 Single-Best-Answer (SBA) questions. There is no minimum score requirement for any of the papers. The candidate’s final grade is the only factor that counts.
